Gospel
I. INTRODUCTION
Each of the evangelists gives an overview of Christ, four ways to reach the heart of the gospel.
Mark is the Gospel oldest and shortest of the four. It will of Matthew and Luke. The Gospel of Mark is a catechism, a basic manual for catechumens. Ie: a Gospel made for those community members who began their Christian journey. Marcos
aims to write the "beginning" of the Good News of Jesus Christ and to lift the veil on the identity of Jesus. It took a long time for this identity is recognized by the disciples and the people, as expected a triumphant Messiah and not suffering. Mark wants to wake up in the catechumen, and in us, the profession of faith that Peter will say (cf. Mk 8, 29) before Jesus reveals his identity to the facts of his authority, his miracles and their attitudes. The decree of silence imposed Jesus (Messianic secret) is to say that you walk the walk, not glory, but the humiliation and the cross to save mankind.

IV. THESIS:
The Gospel of St. Mark goes to prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, therefore, is directed mainly to narrate miracles. Mark presents Christ is not a Messiah and crowned triumphant victory, but a Christ who goes straight to the cross. Therefore, the messianic secret in Mark meant that Christ is not interested in fame and prestige, but humility and abasement. A paint Mark as a lion, because it begins by saying that Jesus fasted in the wilderness and wild animals kept him company.
V. EXPLANATION OF THE THESIS:
1. Author, date and target
tradition identifies him with John Mark, a native of Jerusalem, cousin of Barnabas and companion of the latter on his first apostolic journey. No part of the twelve apostles. It also presents him as companion and interpreter of Peter in the Roman community.
This Gospel was written in Rome about AD 70, as evidence suggests a community that know some Jewish customs, and the text contains references to Latinos and schedule and to Roman law, equivalency between the Hebrew and Roman coins.
Mark wrote his Gospel to the faithful of Rome, from paganism.

There are scenes in this, with details of a witness to the events
e)

There is a geographical pattern: + Preaching of John (1, 1-13)
+ Ministry in Galilee (1, 14-9)
+ Ministry in Judea (10-12 )
+ eschatological discourse (13)
+ Passion and victory (14-16)
And there is also a theological structure clear:

4. Theological and spiritual content
Purpose of the Gospel of Mark: Prove that Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God, the winner of the power of Satan, proving this with his miracles, suffered, died and rose again. But a Jesus misunderstood and rejected by men, not Jesus of human triumphs.
key to understanding Marcos:
a)
Marcos in the community dominated by non-Jews, who gathered in homes to worship and have catechesis. Mark is the biggest highlights the missionary tradition. It is an organized community to evangelize.
b)
and was posed the question of the person of Jesus. Perhaps this approach was prompted by the difficult circumstances (persecution of Nero) Christians spanning the years 60-70. Mark presents Jesus as Messiah, Son of God, condemned to death and resurrected.
c) also are emerging and some heretical movements, who insisted in the risen Jesus, the Spirit communicator. And did not value the historical traditions of Jesus of Nazareth.
* Content:
a) Church:
presents a Church, in whose center is the person of Jesus. From this acceptance of the person of Jesus the Christian community receives illumination for specific experiences through, even if harsh.
b) Jesus
The mystery of the suffering Messiah: Mark's Jesus is the Jesus of the Passion: a strong emphasis on the prospect of suffering and the cross. Presents Jesus in two stages: in the Galilee and Jerusalem. It particularly stresses the humanity of Jesus. This Jesus does not say great speeches, mainly operates. Front
Jesus must be defined:
O with Him or against Him if we accept Jesus, I accept your cross and your needs. It is curious to see how Mark's Gospel at the beginning of Jesus' ministry was surrounded by many people, and gradually the circle of his disciples were narrower and narrower.
Road to the Cross
Peter's confession (8, 27-30) marks the end of an era and the Gospel takes an important turn, decrease the miracles, the teachings increase Jesus, who is directed to an ever smaller circle. The most obvious is to show that his Messiahship not have the air of triumph that his disciples were expected, but the way of the Messiah is a way "to Jerusalem", which will be delivered into the hands of his enemies to crucify him.
Jesus and his disciples followed
them a journey of faith.
* The call:
calls whom God loves (cf. 3, 13), from any condition and reality (cf. 1, 16-20); called personally by name, called for be with him and give them a mission (Cf. 3, 14); calls go after Him, following your path, requiring confidence in him (cf. 1, 17).
* The form:
This line passes through several stages. First I will open your eyes to understand who He is (cf. 4, 11-12.) Then, the student recognizes his position of ignorance (4, 13, 4, 40, 6, 52, 8, 17, 9, 32), the disciples did not understand the mystery of Jesus until they have gone all the way to the cross . Later comes the step of sharing the moments of Jesus' life, his journeys, his teachings. Finally, Jesus is more concerned with training follow-up, insists on giving himself up to the profession of faith in the suffering Messiah. Mark tells of the passion and death of Jesus to tell everyone that they have no fear of persecution or the apparent failure, it is the necessary path of the disciple to carry out the mission. The characters of the Passion or take sides with him or against him
* Items:
calls them to be confident and bold preachers of the Gospel. This mission statement becomes insistent call to accept the Word, to proclaim their faith without fear in the risen Christ and exalted in the glory of God.
CONCLUSION: lived today How can the teachings of Mark? Read the Gospel of Mark in the light of Jesus alive. Mark describes for us a Jesus in mind: going, going, say, look ... Christ is living! Mark invites us to open our eyes to recognize His presence in our daily life. Finally we are committed to bear witness to Christ in the midst of suffering and persecution, even to give his life for him if necessary.
PRAYER:
Lord, St. Mark's hand, we ask you to open your eyes to see that you are not a Messiah and sounded easy wins, but a Messiah of shame and cross. That we never fall away from you, on the contrary, give us the grace to give our lives for you if necessary. We follow up the cross, and from there you succeed. Amen.
